Mothers day – she wants your time.

With Mother’s Day rapidly approaching, one thing my children and my mother will know is that it is a day for making time for each other .More than anything, I know that what I want from my two young adults is to hear from them regularly (more than once a day works for me!) and to spend time with them. They know this – we love to make a plan. I urge you to make a time to connect with those who are important to you. And of course a shared experience will be memorable.

I’d love to go to a cooking class with my daughter and to go go karting with my son (kids, you don’t have to spend a fortune on it – there are plenty of gifts under $50 – but if you need a bit more cash – ask your dad. Or both pitch in and the three of us can do something together.

We have such limited time together as they work hard establishing their own lives (of which I am very proud).
A few years back my mum and I did the candle making course together. We spent a Saturday afternoon together that was filled with creativity and laughter – it was the best. (Mum you can be assured there will be another little creative activity for this Mother’s Day, but I’m not giving away any hints).

And when we cannot get together in person – it is those things that we have done together that we can reflect upon. Shared experience comes back over and over – in the stories we share.
