Manchester United could get a big transfer as part of a new exit route for Jesse Lingard, while Arsenal’s transfer plan is in doubt – both in all the latest Paper Talk.
DORTMUND WANT LINGARD
Borussia Dortmund have registered firm interest in Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard, which the Red Devils could reportedly use to get Jadon Sancho.
Lingard has used a loan spell at West Ham to make himself the centre of attention again, providing a huge boost to the Hammers. As such, debate has begun about his future. West Ham boss David Moyes wants a permanent deal for the midfielder, while United counterpart Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Bruno Fernandes has largely kept him out of his team.
West Ham may therefore seem an ideal destination for the 28-year-old, but his wage demands concern the London club.
Nevertheless, The Sun now claims that Dortmund are ‘big admirers’ of Lingard and could swoop for him.
As part of the deal, United could get winger Sancho, reportedly one of their big targets for the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils failed with a swoop last summer because of Dortmund’s £108million valuation. Reports now suggest that that fee has lowered significantly.
As regards the other financial parts of the deal, United value Lingard at £20million and want his full value from whichever club they sell him to – if they decide to do so.
The Sun adds that Dortmund want as much as possible for Sancho because they have to pay his former club Manchester City 15 per cent of his transfer fee as per a sell-on clause.
Sancho put in a fantastic display for Dortmund on Thursday, scoring twice as his side beat RB Leipzig to win the German Cup.
