The Government’s Covid-19 task force announced on Friday (May 14) that people will be allowed to gather in groups of up to two starting May 16. This is down from the current five.
The daily cap of five distinct visitors per household will also be cut to two distinct visitors a day.
“Individuals should continue to limit their overall number of social gatherings to not more than two per day, whether to another household or meeting with friends and family members in a public place,” said the Ministry of Health.
Furthermore, no one will be allowed to dine in at food and beverage establishments, including hawker centres and coffee shops. Eateries, both indoor and outdoor, can offer only takeaways and deliveries.
Working from home will also remain as the default. Employers must ensure that employees who can work from home do so, and social gatherings at workplaces will be disallowed.
Meal breaks can be taken at the workplace, but staff should refrain from intermingling with their colleagues when their masks are taken off.
Wedding banquets will have to cease, but a special arrangement can be made for those with wedding plans this Sunday. They can proceed, but with required pre-event testing for all guests.
Other activities which will also not be allowed include strenuous indoor exercise classes or strenuous individual and group indoor sports and exercise activities.
