Sam Johnstone’s West Brom stint
West Brom of course secured a return to the Premier League last summer.
However, the Baggies are now set for a swift return to the Championship.
After a loss vs Arsenal last week, Sam Allardyce’s men joined Sheffield United and Fulham in being relegated to England’s second tier.
When a side is sent packing to the Championship, there are generally a number of players whom fellow Premier League clubs go on to express an interest in.
West Brom do not boast an awful lot of target-worthy options as things stand, but perhaps the most obvious comes in the form of Sam Johnstone.
Johnstone signed for the Baggies from Manchester United in 2018, and was essential in the Midlands-based outfit securing promotion to the Premier League.
Now, though, with the reality of relegation setting in, it appears that West Brom have opened to parting with the shot-stopper, for the right price.
West Ham eyeing Johnstone
It was reported at the beginning of this month that West Brom would want around £20m for Johnstone if they are relegated, which they of course have been:

That same report also mentioned interest in Johnstone from former club, Man United.
A report from Football Insider this weekend, however, suggests that it is London-based PL sides who are leading the race for Johnstone.
FI claim that West Ham have leapfrogged Tottenham to lead the race to sign Johnstone, with the Hammers said to be readying a bid for the keeper.
