New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Diu on Wednesday to review the situation and damage due to Cyclone Tauktae.
The Prime Minister will during his visit conduct an aerial survey of areas such as Una, Diu, Jafarabad, and Mahuva, ANI reported.
He will also hold a review meeting in Ahmedabad later.
At least 27 people, including seven people in Gujarat, have reportedly been killed in the cyclonic storm. The cyclone battered parts of Gujarat and left behind a trail of destruction along the coast, uprooting electric poles and trees besides damaging several houses and roads.
Prime Minister Modi had on Monday called up Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani over the phone and sought details of preparation by the state government to deal with the cyclone.
He had also called up Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Daman & Diu Lieutenant Governor Praful Patel regarding preparation and response to deal with the cyclone.

Even last week, the Prime Minister chaired a high-level meeting to review the preparedness of states and central ministries/agencies concerned to deal with the situation arising out of Cyclone Tauktae.
After the meeting, he directed senior officials to all possible measure to make sure that people living in high-risk areas are safely evacuated by the state governments and to ensure availability of all essential services such as power, telecommunications, health, drinking water etc. in the event of damages caused to them.
Prime Minister Modi further directed them to ensure special preparedness on COVID management in hospitals, vaccine cold chain and other medical facilities on power back up and storage of essential medicines and to plan for unhindered movement of oxygen tankers. He also directed for 24*7 functioning of control rooms.
He also said that special care needs to be taken to ensure that there is least possible disruption in oxygen supply from Jamnagar. He also spoke about the need to involve the local community for timely sensitisation and relief measures.
