Four people were injured early Friday after a fire broke out in a residence in Pointe-Claire.
The fire was reported around 1:25 a.m. at a residence on Cartier Ave. near Lanthier Ave.
A 43-year-old woman and 10-year-old boy were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and 68-year-old woman and 44-year-old man were treated for burns.
Damage to the residence was considerable and the investigation into the fire has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
About 90 minutes after they were called to the Pointe-Claire incident, Montreal firefighters were deployed to extinguish a fire that may have been deliberately set in a car parked on Matane St. near 77th Ave. in the borough of LaSalle.
Montreal arson investigators are also probing the cause of that fire.
