Montreal police said information from the first witnesses suggests the cyclist went through a red light and crashed into the SUV.

A cyclist was injured when his bicycle collided with a sport-utility vehicle in the Rosemont—La-Petite-Patrie borough late Friday afternoon.
Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils said police were first alerted to the accident, at the intersection of Pie-IX Blvd. and St-Zotique St. E., when someone called 911 at around 4:30 p.m.
The cyclist, a 21-year-old man, suffered an injury to his head and was taken to a hospital. Chèvrefils said the man’s injury is not life-threatening.
The driver of the SUV, a 62-year-old man, was not injured.
Chèvrefils said information from the first witnesses suggests the cyclist went through a red light and crashed into the SUV, which was not travelling at a high rate of speed.
The intersection, including Pie-IX Blvd. between Beaubien and Bélanger Sts., was closed Friday night while the accident was investigated. St-Zotique St E. was closed between 20th and 23rd Aves.
