For the first couple of years that I lived in Austin, I lamented the lack of good breakfast spots in town. Of course, we’ve always nailed the breakfast taco, but at that time, if you weren’t in the mood for eggs and tortillas your options were highly limited. Thankfully, that’s all changed, and today’s breakfast landscape in Austin includes pork belly steamed buns, red quinoa porridge, epic bagel boards, and every topping for avocado toast you could dream up. Located in the heart of South Congress, June’s All Day is the perfect neighborhood café for any meal, but especially breakfast. It is one of Austin’s chicest spots and is totally Instagram-worthy.

Counter Café is a beloved neighborhood breakfast spot near the University of Texas Campus. It has a retro diner feel that takes me back to my childhood, except in my childhood I wouldn’t be drinking mimosas!

Located in Central Austin, 24 Diner has the typical diner vibe to it, my only complaint is that it isn’t actually open 24 hours!

Taco Deli is a great casual breakfast spot with some of the best breakfast tacos in town. They have plenty of locations and even one in the airport so you can get one last taste of Austin before you leave.
