Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani spent time on social media on New Year’s Eve criticizing Republicans who had failed to act on unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 presidential election suffered from fraud.
Giuliani, who is President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, took to social media site Parler to claim that the election results were tainted and warn GOP leaders that they risked primary challenges if they refused to acknowledge the fraud.
“There are 5 State Legislatures that know their vote tallies submitted to US Congress are a fraud,” Giuliani said. “Most of the Republican legislators want to correct the lies and expose the massive Biden vote theft. Only a few Republican ‘leaders’ are worried about the rejection by the Deep State media, politicians and businesses.”
Giuliani didn’t specify which states had fraudulent tallies but he went on to deliver a broadside against Republicans who’ve defended the integrity of the election.
“Expose these vacillators and let them make a choice; join Deep State conspiracy or save our nation from a fraudulent election,” he wrote.
“They get to make a choice. And you can be sure we will never forget.”
“Elephants don’t forget. Elephants hate disloyalty. Elephants disrespect cowardice. They are a disgrace to the party of Lincoln, Reagan and Trump. And this will follow you into history.”
The elephant is the traditional symbol associated with the Republican Party, while the Democrats are represented by a donkey. Giuliani went on to issue a warning about the future of the party.
“We need your support for next week as we weed out the Republican quislings and make sure they know they are finished if they don’t support truth and justice,” he said. “Let let them know we will primary all of them from Leader to back bencher. We will oppose them in leadership elections.”
“FIRST TARGET: Georgia where video tape shows theft of 120,000 votes for Biden,” Giuliani wrote. “Republican Gov. Kemp refuses to call a special session. Something really suspicious about this.
“Speaker David Ralston refuses to exercise his power under US Const. art. II, sec. I and call for a vote to revoke false and fraudulent vote count presented by Sec of State Raffensenburger.
“Let Ralston know he should stop blocking a vote on certification if he wants to remain a Republican. Let Kemp know he’s been useless for some time. We don’t want him and Democrats have used him but would never trust him.”
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, both Republicans, have dismissed unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud in the state, while Ralston has expressed concern about potential fraud as a result of mail-in ballots.
Despite accusations from the president and some high profile Republicans, there has been no evidence of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Some senior Republicans have also publicly dismissed the claims.
Brian Kemp, Brad Raffensperger and David Ralston have been contacted for comment.
