The Twitter accounts of Donald Trump‘s immediate family have largely grown in popularity in the weeks since the end of his presidency.
While Trump himself remains banned from the social network, accounts used by his son Donald Jr., daughters Ivanka and Tiffany, and wife Melania were still attracting new followers as of Monday, with only Eric Trump showing consistent decline.
Trump’s term in the White House came to a close on January 20 as President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn into office.
But statistics recorded by the media analytics platform Social Blade suggest that close relatives of the 45th U.S. president have, for the most part, not yet fallen victim to a mass exodus of followers on Twitter.
Trump Jr. continues to have a follower base of about 6.6 million. Between January 20 and February 1, he gained 151,369 followers. The only drop was on January 26, when he lost 28,870 followers.
Over the same period, Ivanka Trump, who has 10.3 million followers, picked up 91,462 users. Her sister Tiffany amassed 36,498 extra followers.
The former first lady gained 340,976 followers, likely thanks to users moving over to the @MelaniaTrump account after @FLOTUS45 was formally archived by Twitter.
According to Social Blade statistics, Eric Trump’s Twitter following has taken the biggest hit, recording 16 days of consecutive losses between January 7 and January 22.
Since January 20, Eric Trump’s profile has gained a little over 7,000 followers, but close to 46,000 users appear to have left. Over the past 30 days, Social Blade suggested that he has lost 326,405 followers, although he still has a total of 4.2 million.
Collectively, the Trump family members listed appear to have gained at least 627,350 Twitter followers since January 20. They still command a combined audience of at least 20 million followers, although it’s unclear how many could be bots or fake profiles.
Notably, each of the Trump family members logged a plunge of thousands of Twitter followers at the start of last month, around the same time as Twitter started conducting a purge of accounts found to be spreading policy-breaking QAnon content.
Twitter said in a blog post that it had started to remove accounts spreading the baseless conspiracy theory on January 8, swiftly suspending tens of thousands of profiles. It acknowledged that some users would see their follower counts drop.
Between January 9 and January 13, Ivanka Trump’s Twitter followers tanked by about 161,903, while Trump Jr.’s fell by 132,514, according to Social Blade. However, it is unclear how many of those users were real or directly tied to QAnon material.
