BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14

Trend:

One of the topics of NATO summit (“NATO 2030 at Brussels Forum”) which will be held in Brussels on June 14 will be Georgia’s security, Trend reports citing Georgian media.

The ministry of foreign affairs of Georgia pointed out the importance of the country being included in the summit, which deals with the support of rule-based international order.

The final document (the communiqué) will be adopted at the Brussels summit. Furthermore, the Georgian side expects that “the communiqué will adequately reflect Georgia’s progress on Euro-Atlantic integration, reaffirm NATO’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and focus on the difficult humanitarian and security environment in the occupied territories”.

In addition, Georgia expects “the Allies to reaffirm their commitment to the Bucharest Summit’s decision to make Georgia a member of NATO ‘and to note Georgia’s special contribution to strengthening common Euro – Atlantic security”.

Moreover, the prime minister of Georgia will participate in the “NATO 2030 at Brussels Forum” – a panel called Investing in resilience, during which different threats and Georgia’s experience in dealing with them will be discussed.

It is already known that leaders of various countries will take part in the “NATO 2030 at Brussels Forum” together with the Prime Minister of Georgia, including the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel, the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, and others.
